Supporting former service people

Veteran’s Army was founded to help support, counsel and train former service people from across the UK Armed Forces.

Our Mission

Veteran’s Army helps those who are suffering from PTSD and those who have fallen into addiction, homelessness or unemployment. We do this by offering therapy, training programmes and courses, rehabilitation programs from drugs and alcohol, assistance with homelessness, and supporting veterans in need.

We also help individuals secure post-service employment by providing funding for training.

It’s our belief that those who’ve served their country should receive unparalleled support and recognition following their military career – that’s what we’re here to achieve.

Veteran's Army

What We Do

Founded in 2021 by former service people, Veteran’s Army helps individuals face civilian life following a career in the Armed Forces.

Through one-to-one therapy sessions, training courses to increase employment opportunities, or by simply offering an understanding ear, Veteran’s Army aims to improve the lives of former service people as they transition back into civilian life.

We currently receive no government funding and are always looking for support. If you’d like to help former service people, please donate today.

Testimonials

After nearly an 11-year battle with PTSD, in October 2020 my mental health became so severe that I drove a car off a motorway bridge in an attempt to take my own life. I found Ryan through another platform where he was a mentor for mental health and addiction for veterans. He began to help me immediately, listening to my story, inspiring me and encouraging me to do better… this year after a severely heart-breaking relationship break up… the Veteran's Army have been there every step of the way, funding hotels when the council were happy to leave me on the streets, offering me support, counselling and trying to help me get in to employment as I lost my business too.. I can not begin to think where I would be if the Veteran's Army didn’t step up when I needed them this year with daily check-ins… I can honestly say the Veteran's Army saved my life.

I would like to say thank you to the Veteran's Army for helping me out of a hole I found myself in. Over the last three years, I have been using a psychology and counselling BSc degree to help me heal from Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD). The idea is that I would learn to heal and then teach it back in my own way. I have had success in terms of healing and self-understanding, but it was extremely hard work. While I was learning, healing and helping others, I was not paying attention to my own needs. When the pandemic hit, bankrupting the student funds at University, I was left with no income. Furthermore, I had no financial support from family or a spouse. I was falling behind with my uni work and could not find any immediate funds for basic needs such as food and rent. Fortunately, I don't mind reaching out as much as I used to on social media, asking for some support from my wider community. Having served with Ryan, he saw my post and after talking about my situation he said that the charity would like to help get me back on track. This money has gone some way in helping me to feel a bit safer in my situation. That safety has allowed me some room to think, without the panic of being at the bottom of the red zone. Now I have lined up work knowing that I can afford to travel for it and I am at my computer finishing my dissertation (which is ironically about healing from CPTSD). Hopefully, I will help make an impact on veterans' health in the future, and this will have been supported by Veteran's Army.

I recently asked for help from the Veteran's Army as I was in need of help to pay my bills. The Veteran's Army were quick to help me and send through all the relevant information that I needed. The Veteran's Army were very helpful and understanding and non judgemental when I asked for help. The process was very quick and they assured me that they would do all they could to help me and they did just that. With in a couple of days I was able to pay my household bills and be more comfortable for the coming month. Excellent service and very helpful.

We contacted Vets Army late on a Monday evening after a veteran of our community was brought to our attention. He was in need of money, food, heating and was suicidal. We directed them initially to another charity initially however there was no short term support available. We contacted Veteran's Army who were literally the QRF of the military charity sector. Within an hour of contacting Veteran's Army we had received some funding to get the veteran heating and food to get through the next few days until longer term support plan was implemented. I can’t stress enough how important it was to get help when it was required and Veterans Army where exactly that.. Right there when it was needed the most. Thank you so much for being fast and effective - it was literally lifesaving.

Veteran's Army has helped me in so many ways, I’ve been struggling financially and have a young family, they have put me in touch with me numerous potential employers so my CV is on the desks and hopefully something comes of it, it’s also good to reach out and actually speak with someone who understands and cares. They also helped me with my finances as I was struggling to put food on the table and renew my SIA licence so I can continue to work.

Veteran's Army helped me support my husband who was struggling with his Mental Health. Since he has attended therapy funded by Veteran's Army and been taking part in the zooms and Facebook lives conducted by Ryan he has turned a corner. Thank you for giving me my husband back.

Through Ryan and the Veteran's Army I was able to find a job in my area that enabled me to support my family non of this would of been possible without Ryan calling in favours and ensuring he found me a vacancy. I now monthly donate to this great cause the military brotherhood at its best a once again proud VETERAN.

We are a Bolton based charity that feed the homeless twice a week all year round. Every year we throw a Christmas party for our guys and girls where they receive a full Christmas dinner. Gifts and care packages. Veteran's Army reached out to us and offered their support.Ryan ran a social media campaign to raise money to fund our Christmas party. They made a very large donation and we were able to give our lads and ladies a great Christmas party. Thank you Veteran's Army
